Huber Brothers are on the Nose

It looks like they are going to get GREAT FOOTAGE of their climbing. They've got a crane or boom arm for the top of the Captain and many camera people shooting from everywhere.

I saw them get to Dolt Tower in about an hour on Tuesday the 6th. that's about 30% of the route time. so they are going darn fast on their recon/practice runs.

I heard they are skipping the boot flake. Can anyone confirm if they are going to do the Jardine variation?

I met the Hubers on top of El Cap on June 26th. they are packing it up for this trip. They plan to come back in the fall.

Thomas showed me his butt. it looks terrible - black, blue, orange, and swollen. OUCH! He's going home to spend time with his kids. I hope it heals up well for the fall attempt.

I look forward to the Hubers coming back in the fall. Hans says that he beleives the Hubers will beat Yuji and his record time of 2:48, "no problem".

I think Hans should train with Steve Edwards doing some drinking society challenges so that he can smash the Huber's record, what ever it is.

I know you are a patriot and have a Cadillac painted like an American flag (if you're reading this and you don't know Neal, this is absolutely true). Anyway, you may not take kindly to this, but I don't think Hans, despite his German-sounding name, should get into a drinking contest with two Austrians. Even if he wins, some Brits will take up the challenge and then it's over.
